About
A few words about me
My name is Karel Nývlt, I am a middle-aged man. I feel perhaps even younger in spirit, with artistic thoughts. In my youth, under the communist regime, I graduated from a high school of mechanical engineering in Prague, but unfortunately even back then it was supposed to be an art school instead. Since then, in my free time, I painted pictures as an amateur, glued mosaics from ceramic shards and glass, carved from wood, took a course and learned the Tiffany technique (working with stained glass.)
However, one day I discovered the work of a trained British artist who creates life-size sculptures from fine galvanized wire mesh. It's a lengthy, manually quite demanding job, often resulting in stubbed fingers. However, to get the neccessary feel for bending of the wires and maintain contact with the instruments wearing gloves is unthinkable. This technique absorbed me so much that I have been working on it for the third year already. Gradually, I got deeper into the secrets of this technique, making the proportions and faces of the sculptures more detailed. At this time I create wire sculptures for my own pleasure, several pieces are already found among my friends. At night or in winter, if the statue is interwoven with a delicate LED light chain, it is even more beautiful to look at. However, only romantics, of which I certainly belong to, will probably understand that. If you can imagine such a statue in your interior, in a conservatory or perhaps sitting on a bench in the flowery corner of your garden and the sight of it would please you, believe me, I am now able to make it for you...
Sincerely yours
